Classical Literature with occasional bias The selections offer a wide variety of works, an excellent sampling for the highschool student. Note the secular world view. While there's no mention of C.S. Lewis, Tolkein or Chesterton (The Ballad of the White Horse comes to mind) this textbook does provide a myriad of classic selections from western and eastern literature: Song of Roland, The Illiad, Dante, the Koran, the Bible, and every continent's literature. Between the well delineated eras are helpful references, historical background notes and grammar and writing skills. | ||
