Tough but good book This book is not quite like Draper & Smith or even Cohen & Cohen, but it is very good in its own right. Its appeal is to people with a higher level of quantitative training which may not be present in people with only one undergraduate social science statistics course. The book does have typos, but the book is the first edition-first printing and it is over 700 pages. I found a lot of useful information I could use in my statistical work and learned some different ways at looking at using regression analysis. The book was of great value to me and worth the time spent reading it and thinking about the material presented.
Incredibly bad I sat through a semester of Jed Frees (the author) and his incredibly awful book. The book is the worse edited book I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. Mistakes and errata galore on top of being poorly written in the first place. Do yourself a favor and get Applied Regression Analysis by Norm Draper.
bad to the bone!!! this book is a total waste. I have never seen such poor explanations as I have seen in this book.I can't say how many times I wanted to burn this book. I can not understand why any school would use this book. Its pretty bad...
Awful! The book is a terrible teaching tool. It provides a poor summary of the foundations of statistics. It assumes knowledge in complex disciplines such as Caluclus and Matrix notation. The book uses complex terms to explain complex concepts. It does not make an attempt to explain the material in layman's terms. It lacks clarity and it is not coherent. I found it virtually useless.
Must avoid This is a terrible book, it may work for experts in the field, but for students, this book is not a useful tool
