  1. there are more buyers than sellers
  2. buyers are more aggressive than sellers
  3. sellers are afraid and demand a premium
  4. more shares or contracts are bought than sold
  1. I and II
  2. II and III
  3. II and IV
  4. III and IV
Answer B. II and III. Every change in price reflects what happens in the battle between bulls and bears. Markets rise when bulls feel more strongly than bears. They rally when buyers are confident and sellers demand a premium for participating in the game that is going against them. There is a buyer and a seller behind every transaction. The number of stocks or futures bought and sold is equal by definition.

Reviews

Good Book On Trading
This was one of the first books I read when I started trading stocks. Dr Elder's background as a psychologist did him good, and the rest of us who are interested in how the markets work and the human psychology behind trading. Those who are curious about stock trading and trading in general should get this book. Elder carefully explained the dynamics of bull and bear participants, how certain technical indicators work and why the market is how it is. Even though I mainly trade forex now, I still refer to this book often.

Straightforward, informative, entertaining, a great book.
When I decided to become a trader nine months ago, I knew I'd need to read a few good books to start me on my way. This book was, by far, the best investment I made. Elder's writing style is no nonsense, no holds barred. He tells it like it is. It was the best first book for me, a rookie, to read. It squashes the idea of making easy money and reveals the truths about trying to make a living trading the markets. Elder is an excellent teacher and writer. He isn't here to butter up your dreams of wealth; he shares with us the truths of how difficult it is to trade for a living. He challeges us to examine ourselves to find out whether we have what it takes to make it. If you're not serious don't buy this book. I enjoyed reading this book, I couldn't put it down. It's one of the best I've ever read, fiction or non-fiction. I bought a copy for my best friend, who began trading options a few months ago, and I also recommended it to a friend at work who started trading earlier this year. I believe it's a must read for every enthusiastic trader, whether you are new to the game or an experienced pro.

Excellent Book
This is a great read for anyone interested in trading stocks. It is written in an easy to understand style and the authors wisdom is easily assimilated by the reader. Pricey, but worth every penny.

Trading for a Living - audiobook
I purchased the audiobook and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys listening and learning. The book is must read / hear if your attempting to make money in the financial markets. The author challenges you to look at your own motivations, desires, fears, risk tolerance and financial means before you make your first move. For those, like myself, who have never realy understood financial markets this is excellent source of information.

A must read for serious traders
If you react to the markets with emotion, this is the book for you. Trading should not have Las Vegas emotion, and this book helps you remove the emotion and become a better and hopefully more profitable trader.
