Great Purchase for the MCSE Certification I have purchased this software and relied on it mostly for my exams. I passed all the core exams with flying colors. Thanks to New Riders. All the tools available with the software were quite useful. Many questions from the software were asked in the actual exams, even though not "verbatim". As for the guys who couldn't make use of it, well "sour grapes". | ||
WORST Test software ever written!!!! There are 3 MAJOR flaws with this software. 1)Worng format for questions. 2) Too many glaring spelling errors. 3) Just plain wrong information I quit using this after just one night because of the confusion it caused. You would be MUCH better off paying a little more money and going with one of the online testing tools such as Transcender. I have used New Riders MCSE books and I think they are wonderful. The software could use some work, though!! | ||
BEWARE!!! Worst test prep for the MCSE ever!!! I can't believe how bad this exam suite is. There were typos and errors in the question formats. One question asked for 3 answers and when you check the answer key there were only two correct answers. The tests on these exam are nothing like the real MCSE, the test format are all wrong, MCSE test will never ask you to choose 3 answers because there are usually 4 choices if you found the wrong one you got the answers, instead they would ask you to choose the "all" the correct answers. Another thing is that in the exam it would have examples of questions that are not used in MCSE testing e.g. enter the command at the prompt> HELLO??? MCSE exams are multiple choice you can guess, there is no such thing as enter the command!!! These test are also overly hard, I pass the MCSE with easier questions. These hard questions don't make you smarter only more confuse because they are the wrong format. STAY AWAY FROM THESE BOOKS!!!!! | ||
Great Test Simulation Package The application gives a user three ways to study, Practice Exam, Study Cards, Flash Cards. The Practice Exam was the most useful to me. It allowed me to find those weak areas in my knowledge. The Study Cards allowed me to work on filling in those weak areas, and also get some repetition on the areas that I did OK on during the Practice Exam. I thought that the Flash Cards were annoying, just because it requires to you type in answers, maybe good for leaning, but bad when trying to crunch a lot of stuff into a very short time. Overall I feel that it is worth purchasing, if not just to get used to the testing format/style. The user interface seems very simple but effective. | ||
Excellent User Interface - As good as products many times $$ The Top Score MCSE Core Exams is a two CD-Rom set designed to give the user a real feel for the test situation (Very much like Sylvan Prometric Tests)! Have you ever had the light bulb finally come on!!! Well, with this "system" you get the same information re-phrased four different ways, e.g., you will understand it one way or the other! I am currently enrolled in an expensive Technical School and this compares nicely to the core Computer Based Training (CBT)s that I've been using. There is no written documentation to study from, just an instruction guide on installation and product introduction. I would recommend this as a cost effective companion to be used with other test preparation books and some hands on (This product also gives you an installation for WinNT, w/Enterprise, Win98, Win95 that is interactive - while not a true operating system, you do get some hands on going through the actual computer sequence of events needed to do the tasks required in the real world)! Again, a superb product for the price. | ||
