good book. this is the first edition. It does have different with the 2nd ed. but the basic concept is the same. and it is muuuuuch cheaper than 2nd ed.
Core Concepts in Pharmacology Book was in good shape, however, did not come with the advertised CD ROM (which is required for my son's class); The seller failed to respond to my emails despite my multiple attempts to contact her. The book itself is good and my son is enjoying using it in his independent study. His teach also likes the book very much.
Strong Overview As a paramedic student taking an intro pharmacology course on the side, I found this text to be quite applicable. The overview of conditions prior to the explaination of current drug therapy provides a suffient reference for the reader to understand the basics of why certain pharmacological therapies are used. In addition, the CD animations provide a useful graphical description of specific drug mechanisms. I found this book to be a great overview and introduction to the subject.
