Book Description A Hatred That Lasted 4000 Years... Best Selling author Hal Lindsey explains how, on September 11, an ancient fight-to-the-death conflict exploded on the shores of the U.S. Though most Americans didn't realize it, we were already involved in this struggle. A struggle driven by a hatred that goes back over 4000 years. Islamic fundamentalism's purpose is to replace the Judeo-Christian world order with an Islamic world order. Every American needs to understand the enormity of the threat we face -- and why. In the aftermath of 9/11 most Americans are asking: * Why do most Muslims hate Jews? This book will answer these questions with both Biblical and secular history. It will also bring new hope to the coming "perilous times."

Great book- a comprehensive review linking Bible prophecy and the age-old Arab-Israeli conflict. Like many people today, I am trying to understand the troubling events in our world, particularly the Arab-Israeli conflict, which has been the focus of the news for so long in recent times. I am a Christian in the simple sense that I believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God and of course that Jesus is who He claims to be: the Son of God and Saviour of the world. That said, I am still able to read a book critically and not merely looking for books which nicely fit into my world-view. I have read several books regarding the history of Israel, the history of the Arab people, and of course the history recorded (for a specific purpose) in the Old Testament. Hal Lindsey's book is wonderful in that it highlights specific Bible prophecies which have been fulfilled in the life of the Jewish people (and confirmed by history), so it enhances an understanding of some OT passages. It also provides facts and verifiable information (quotes from the Koran and from other history scholars, including Arab ones) regarding the birth of the Islamic religion and what that religion is. This information was not new to me, as I have read the same in many other history books on the subject; why do Muslim people get so offended when they are presented with a history of their faith? Isn't that blind faith? Unlike the Koran, the Bible encourages us to test claims and look for the truth, and be prepared (informed) to give an answer regarding what we believe. Therefore, I was not surprised to see the irrational responses of the 1-star reviewers, whose most substantial complaint was a strong emotional response to the author's presentation of bible prophecy and verifiable information, as hate promoting, bigoted, etc. etc. These reviews are filled with denials of the information presented, but no proof to the contrary, and plain emotional responses and personal attacks toward the author. Very sad. If I were a Muslim, I would want to know what kind of a person I am following. It is a known fact that Mohammad was disturbed in many ways, violent, self-contradicting, suicidal, etc. If people choose to follow him, fine, but please don't have a fit when these facts are laid on the table. Finally, one reviewer said that people of all faiths have committed atrocities, and so by this token, we would have to judge the whole world. Very true. But since the reviewer is specifically discussing Christianity and Islam, I would like to point out one small detail: Muslims have committed atrocities because they are commanded to do so by their holy book; when people have committed atrocities in the name of Christianity, they have done so in absolute conflict to the teachings of the Bible. Period. I am amazed that some people see this book as hate-promoting. This is such a ridiculous claim that I won't bother to comment on it any further. My only complaint about the book is that it needs a better editor: it has more than its share of spelling and grammar errors.
Excellent work on much needed subject Hal Lindsey does an excellent, courageous job on tackling a subject known to inflame many, or cause many to disregard it in the name of political correctness. He addresses the subject of Islamic hatred for Israel and their blatant defiance of God using many appropriate scriptures. The defiance of the Islamic, Anti - Israel community against God can be seen by how easily they dismissed the miraculous, unexplainable 6 day war of 1967 in which the sure destruction of Israel was to take place by many Arabic superior forces. In a battle that, to this day is very puzzling and unexplainable to many, the Israelis defeated their enemies soundly in a victory that paralyzed the world in amazement (a world which left Israel to defend itself against a Soviet Union - backed Jordan, Egypt and Syria). And even the most secular have attributed this miraculous victory to the hand of God. These Islamic radicals could care less. The Bible book of Romans specifically states that Israel will repent and turn to Jesus in the last days, and so are being preserved by God until then. No country or group can do anything about changing that. Do the Islamic enemies of Israel care about that? Do they see how God has repeatedly protected Israel from annhiliation at their hands? No. They realize, for reasons they'd prefer not to look at, that they cannot physically destroy all the Israelite people and their country. Instead of looking at how determined God is to have Israel survive, they resort to political tricks to attempt conning Israel out of their land now. Mr. Lindsey points this out very clearly. You know, I'll bet that if these Islamic enemies of Israel were to actually see a giant angel of the Lord standing over Israel as its protector, these radicals would probably say, "Let's find some way around him." Their hate is so great, foolish and emotionally suicidal (literally!) that they choose to be completely blind to God's will for Israel. Mr. Lindsey portrays the defiance muslims have towards God's plan for Israel very clearly and intelligently. It is well researched, easy to read and a recommended resource for anyone concerned in understanding Islamic hatred of Israel and the West.
A War with Roots in the Book of Genesis Hal Lindsey has produced a very thought provoking book that helps make sense of the current mess in the Middle East. Hal shows how the roots of hatred go back thousands of years to the early times described in the Book of Genesis. The book traces the outline of Jewish history and shows the primary historic threads that have created the situation the world faces today in the Middle East. It shows the impact of the British betrayal of the League of Nations Mandate for the creation of Israel by giving away to others 75% of Israel's mandated land. It also shows the terrible price God has required of Great Britian for their betrayal of His people. Hal warns the reader that the USA is following this same slippery slope of betrayal; and that we too stand in danger of God's promised judgment on those who hurt Israel. As a personal observation I think this has already begun. The modern miracle of Israel's survival thus far, in the face of what should have been overwhelming force, is analyzed and explained. The book shows that the worst is still yet to come. The epic battle of Armageddon is still to take place in Israel. This battle will be the climax of the Tribulation and will bring the present age to a close as the Lord Jesus Christ returns to fight for Israel. Hal finishes up the book by showing how God's faithfulness to His chosen people will finally result in a period of 1,000 years of "Peace in Jerusalem" which can ONLY be achieved by The Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ. Hal, as usual, closes the book with an invitation to salvation to any who do not know The Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. I recommend this book highly for all who have an interest in understanding world events.
Very informative on Islam In this book, Hal uses scripture and other sources to illustrate the foundational reasons for Islam's view of "conversion by force". Very interesting read.
History of Hate This book provides a very good background for the Islamic Fundamentalist problems of today. Mr. Lindsey has obviously researched this subject well. Unfortunately, there do not seem to be solutions short of all out warfare. It is only a matter of time.
